Vosene Kids Pink Pomelo 2-in-1 shampoo
Review by Iain P W Robertson
No. I’m not going bald! Mind you, I am starting to thin quite severely on top and at the back of my scalp. As a result, I have been seeking those types of shampoo that do not contain parabens and nasty chemicals and, working on the basis that our children, when very young, had their thin hair coverings washed in the inimitable Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, I have resorted to it and similar products in recent times.
While I know it is a forlorn exercise, as premature hair loss does seem to ‘run in the family’, I was keen to try a new Vosene shampoo that Madame picked up on a recent trip to ASDA. To be fair, it is not a supermarket that we normally frequent but she had been informed about a particularly good barbecue meat offer.
The neat, triangular bottle, with its green flip-top, is one of those 2-in-1 types that I normally avoid (on the advice of my trichologi…sorry, barber!), who suggested that I should stick to shampoo alone and condition my hair less frequently than I used to. However, keen to try it before the children lathered into it, I washed my hair and was surprised by the outcome.
Apart from making my hair feel fuller and very clean, it possesses a slightly astringent wash, which is probably down to the pink pomelo grapefruit essence contained within its constituents, which also gives off a lovely, citrus fruity aroma. Free from MIT and those nasty parabens, it does not foam up as much as some shampoos but the end result is excellent. Yet, above all, it is the lack of eye stinging, when under the shower, that results from some adult shampoos that I have been using, which pleases most.
I reckon that Vosene ought to rebrand its kids’ shampoo, to let adults indulge too. This one is part of a ‘fruity goodness’ range and I am now keen to sample the other ‘flavours’ too!
